CMHC is reviewing the criteria to qualify for a mortgage. They are considering increasing the amount for a down payment (increasing to 10% down and lowering the mortgage amortization to 25yrs). If you, friends or family have been thinking of purchasing a home, great time to buy before CHMC passes this new rule to qualify for a mortgage.
Current rate is 3.79% at a 5yr close.

The inventory (or listings are low) which are reflecting on house prices. CMHC is predicting that come Spring 2010 home prices shall see a 3% increase. The statistics are proving it correct.
